Zhang Chengdong

Zhang Chengdong (; born 9 February 1989) is a Chinese footballer who plays for Spanish club Rayo Vallecano on loan from Beijing Guoan as a right winger.
==Club career==
Born in Baoding, Hebei, Zhang joined Liaoning Whowin's youth setup in 1994, aged five. In 2004 he was invited for a trial at Serie A club A.C. Milan, but nothing came of it and he subsequently returned to his parent club.
Zhang was promoted to Liaoning's first team in 2006, and made his professional debut on 21 May of that year, starting in a 5-0 loss against Shandong Luneng. He only appeared rarely during his first season, as his side narrowly avoided relegation.
After suffering relegation in 2008, Zhang refused a contract offer from Liaoning, and was subsequently released. Already as a free agent, he joined C.D. Mafra on a free transfer on 23 September 2009.
Zhang appeared regularly for Mafra during the campaign, contributing with four league goals in 24 appearances. On 20 January 2010 he scored a hat-trick (also the first of his career) in a 3–4 away loss against Sporting CP, for the season's Taça de Portugal.
On 11 August 2010, Zhang was loaned to Primeira Liga side U.D. Leiria for one year, with a buyout clause. He made his debut in the category four days later, coming on as a substitute for Ricardo Pateiro in a 0–0 away draw against S.C. Beira-Mar, becoming the first Chinese player to play in the league.
Zhang scored his first goal in the main category of Portuguese football on 1 October, netting the winner in a 2–1 home success over Académica de Coimbra. In January 2011 he suffered a metatarsus injury, only returning to action in May.
On 11 July 2011 Zhang moved to Beira-Mar, also in a temporary deal. After scoring six goals in 26 appearances, he was linked to a number of clubs, but subsequently returned to Mafra.
In August 2012, Zhang moved to 2. Bundesliga side Eintracht Braunschweig, in a season-long loan deal. He made his debut for the club on 15 September, coming on as a late substitute for Dominick Kumbela in a 1-0 win against SSV Jahn Regensburg.
On 22 July 2013, Zhang transferred to Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan. He made his debut for the club on 25 August 2013, in a 4–0 routing of Dalian Aerbin, and scored his first goal on 17 May 2014 in a 1–2 loss to Shanghai Shenxin.
On 21 July 2015, Zhang was loaned out to La Liga side Rayo Vallecano for the 2015–16 season, becoming the first Chinese player to sign for a club in the league.
